Help & FAQ
Everything about Kumohime, in plain terms.
Kumohime is a live anime AI avatar that companies embed on their site to greet and help visitors in real time, or a service that turns your own mascot or logo character into one.
What exactly is Kumohime?
Kumohime (雲姫, "Cloud Princess") is a brand-consistent anime avatar who talks, listens, and helps visitors in real time, rigged from her own artwork, given a cloned voice, and wired to a knowledge base she answers from. She's also the live proof of what we can build for your character.
Can I just use Kumohime, or do you build my own character?
Both. You can add Kumohime to your site as-is, a ready, on-brand assistant, no art needed. Or use your own logo, mascot, or artwork and we'll build it into an assistant just like her, in 2D or full 3D.
What's the difference between the 2D and 3D versions?
The 2D form is a Live2D rig of your character's illustration, layered, featherweight, ideal for a corner-of-the-page host that blinks, breathes, and lip-syncs. The 3D form is a full VRM with real depth, head turns, gestures, and full-body motion, so she can walk over and point at things. You can have either, or both.
Is she really talking live, or is it pre-recorded?
Live. Speech-to-text hears the visitor, an LLM grounded in your knowledge writes the reply, a cloned voice speaks it, and the character lip-syncs to that audio in real time, every answer generated on the spot, never a canned clip.
How does she know things about my business?
We connect her to your content, a knowledge base, your docs, your site, and she answers from it. That keeps her grounded in what's actually true about your products, pricing, and policies, and you can update what she knows any time.
Can she tell what I'm looking at on the page?
Yes. She sees what's actually on the screen in front of you, the section you've scrolled to, the product or image you're viewing, and answers about that specific thing, not a generic script. Most website chatbots know only which page you're on, if that.
What do we learn about our visitors?
A lot, and it's yours. Behind a private dashboard you see what people ask and which pages and products they're looking at when they ask, ranked so you can see what's most looked at and what your site isn't answering. It's first-party insight into what your customers actually want, the questions, the gaps, the products drawing attention, often worth as much as the avatar itself, and a plain chat box throws all of it away.
Where can I put her, and what does it cost?
Anywhere you can add a snippet, a corner widget, a full-page host, a kiosk. Kumohime and custom character avatars are launching soon and pricing is being finalized. Join the waitlist and we'll reach out with early access and a quote for your character.
Will she remember our conversation?
Yes. She remembers what you've said so she can handle follow-ups instead of starting over every reply, and she recognizes you when you come back. On kumohime.ai those conversations are kept for a short window and then deleted automatically, see our privacy page for the details.
Can she recognize our logged-in customers?
Yes. If your site has its own login, we securely tie into it so your avatar remembers each signed-in customer across every device they use, their name, what they asked before, and where they left off. It's done with a signed token, so one visitor can never be mistaken for another.
What can she do besides talk?
She blinks, looks at you, smiles, and can wave and gesture, and in 3D she can turn around and move. She also sees what's on the screen in front of you, so you can ask about whatever you're actually looking at and she answers about that.
Do I need my artwork already rigged?
No. We rig it from your existing artwork, a logo, a mascot, or an illustration, so there's no animation work you need done first.
How do I get my own avatar?
Join the waitlist, or email hello@kumokodo.ai. We'll talk through your character and the knowledge you want her to answer from, and send early access and a quote.
Still have a question?
The fastest answer is to ask Kumohime herself — she’s live on the site. Or email hello@kumokodo.ai and a human will get back to you.
